Purpose: Web sites are considered as an important tool on the internet and it has an important role in the utilization of students from the internet. In this study, we tried to evaluate Iranian schools web sites.
Method: Research population consists of 122 school websites. We used a check list for evaluation of school websites.
Findings: We found that all aspects of Iranian school websites (authorship / sponsorship, design, contents, and information organization) are in low position. Result of Pearson test showed that there is a significant relationship between all aspects, except information organization and design aspects. On the other hand, it was also considerable that in general, non-profit school web sites were better than governmental school web sites. Results showed that website design for schools should be based on cognitive development, physical, social and emotional growth of students and it is necessary to ask children, librarian, computer specialists, children psychologists, and the other specialist to improve the Iranian school websites situation.
