Explanation of information-seeking behaviors in the framework of the theories of information integration and cybernetics

Abstract

Purpose: Cybernetics as a science that can be used and applied in different dimensions of sciences and in connection with them, has been receiving attention and investigation since its creation. In this regard, studies show that some theories of information integration, in different fields, are closely related to this theory. Based on this, the present research aims examining the theory of Gaia, the general system, the ecology of knowledge and the global brain, and pay attention to the link between them and this science.

Method: Considering the nature of this research, it has been carried out using a descriptive-library method.

Findings: The results of the present research show that cybernetics in the field of control concepts; feedback; Data collection, storage and exchange; The connection and integration created from matter, energy, information in the system; information chains or cycles; self-organization and sustainability; Hierarchical control is linked with information integration theories.

Originality/value: due to the fact that integration theories emphasize human information-seeking behaviors and in the current technological age, in line with the use of web technology, these theories are closely related to tools and machines, therefore Recognizing the common features of cybernetic science, which Weiner believes is the science of control and human-machine communication with these theories, can be useful and facilitator for improving the situation of information recovery in current systems.
