Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the scientific productions of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad researchers in a 20-year period in order to determine the level of group cooperation and draw the scientific structure of this university based on the amount of citations received for the published degrees of researchers of this university. This research is a study using scientometric indicators that analyzed the data obtained from the science website by applying some of the rules and methods of this field such as Lutka and Bradford rules and citation analysis. The findings showed that in this period of time, the researchers of this university have managed to publish 2318 documents indexed in the science website.
The distribution of the frequency of participation of the authors of this university follows the Lutka rule and the distribution of the subject frequency of core documents produced by the authors of this university follows the Bradford rule. Also, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad has enjoyed an average growth rate of 34.2% in the production of global science. The analysis of citations of the examined documents showed that there is a positive relationship between the number of authors and the number of received citations and the amount of participation of an author with the number of documents published by him. In the end, the scientific structure of this university was drawn and analyzed based on the amount of global citations using HistSite software. The result showed that the science map of this university consists of 9 subject clusters.
