Library and Information Science Research is a scientific publication licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and affiliated with Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Since 2011, it has been published independently as a biannual journal in Persian, accompanied by extended English abstracts.

The journal publishes original research articles in the fields of library science, information science, information and communication technologies, and related interdisciplinary studies. It holds scientific accreditation from the Commission for the Evaluation of Scientific Journals and has established an academic collaboration with the Iranian Information Management Association since April 2023.
