Abstract
Purpose: The present research aimed at developing and validation of a scale for measuring the effectiveness of organization of materials in academic libraries with a holistic approach.
Methodology: The construct of the scale is follows the criteria of Competing-values approach, with an emphasis on its four relevant models. Eight key factors were considered for this purpose, namely: planning, productivity and, efficiency, availability of information, stability (equilibrium), cohesive workforce, skilled workforce, flexibility, and acquisition of resources. Based on these factors, using some reliable literature in library and information science, and personal experiences, 54 items were constructed to be used in the scale. The first draft of the scale was then sent to a Delphi panel including of some 30 experts in library and information field who were experienced in academic library management for their comments. The final draft was resolved in the second round of comments. Cronbach’s Alpha method was used for the test of reliability of the scale, and consistency of the items was investigated using expert views. Also, the Friedman statistical test was applied as a means for making conclusion about the overall agreement of the panel members on the whole scale.
Findings: Based on measurement of effectiveness of organization of materials in academic libraries, 53 items were approved by the Delphi panel to be included in the scale, out of which 52 were among the first draft items, and 1 new item was suggested as an addition

Abstract
Purpose: The goal of information systems is to retrieve relevant information fulfilling users’ needs. According to this, search engines have offered a new capability as “suggested keywords”. This is an essential problem that how much these suggested keywords have compatibility with users’ needs. The present research aims to investigate the efficacy of Google's suggested keywords in query expansion and retrieval relevance from users’ view.
Methodology: Through a survey method data were collected from 60 postgraduate students in Humanities/ social sciences and Basic/ Engineering Sciences at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. These data were collected by using a researcher-made questionnaire. Non-probability sampling –especially purposive sampling- was used as the sampling method. Also, individual interviews were established with each of the 60 students.
Findings: Findings show that there is a significant difference between the relevance of retrieved results related to primary keyword search and results retrieved through query expansion (suggested keywords). Also there is no significant difference between retrieved results in the two fields of sciences. Finally, the paper suggests some solutions to improve retrieved results related to suggested keywords.

Abstract:
Purpose: The study was carried out to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the user interface of the Islamic World Science Citation (ISC) in the Iranian Science Citation Index.
Methodology: The method was a qualitative and applied one. To do this heuristic research, a checklist consisting of Nielson's (Pierotti, 2009), Cherry et al (Lancaster, 1997) and Gulliver’s (2002) checklists was developed and used. The sampling was a purposeful and non-probabilistic one. The assessment was carried out by 6 specialists in the fields of library and information science, and computer science.
Findings: The results showed that, in ISC وout of 83 items for the 8 components of the checklist, only 21 items (%25.3) were correct and there were some problems with the other 62 items (%74.69). The components “General Design and Aesthetic Aspects” and “Imposing Restriction”, in which 50 percent of the evaluation criteria were observed, were among the most compatible ones with the checklist criteria. The results also showed that the greatest severity of problems was related to the components “Document Retrieval”, “Search” and “Imposing Restriction” with the mean of 2.6 out of 5. In general, the results confirmed the weakness of the ISC interface related to the assessment criteria.

Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between thinking styles and information-seeking behavior among students of the two faculties.
Methodology: Through the surveying method, a sample of 306 students was selected from the 1532 students according to randomized stratified way proportionate to the community volume. The data were gathered exploiting two questionnaires, one on thinking styles and the other on information seeking behavior and were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage), and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient, Fisher's Z-test and multiple regression).
Findings: Correlation values at the level of P < 0.05 showed a significant and positive relationship between thinking style and information-seeking behavior. The existence of such relationship between the male and female students was also examined. Based on the findings, it was concluded that regarding thinking style factors, on determining the thinking style to be legislative, anarchic or oligarchic, predicting the information-seeking behavior is possible. This point was investigated regarding the two faculties’ students too.

Abstract
Purpose: Measures the rate of physical accessibility to printed book collection at a major Iranian university library system.
Methodology: A list of 2972 titles cited in 97 theses completed in the last two years was checked against the online catalog of the University of Isfahan (Iran) to determine their availability, then search was carried out to find out how far titles with records in the catalog are actually accessible. Possible barriers to accessibility were explored through interviews with responsible library staff as informants.
Findings: Two accessibility rates were identified: 22.4% for the total number of cited items, the second 69% for the 962 titles for which records were found in the university online catalog, i.e. if they were available. A sample was drawn from the total number of 1668 unavailable English language citations and checked against the collections of 6 major universities nationwide and in the Google Books for full-texts. The outcome was that at best, not more than 19% were available. This, most probably reveals a gross false citation by the authors of the theses, hence a case for academic misconduct. Other barriers to physical accessibility to 962 available titles (100%) were: 1) problems of collection management practices (17.9%), being on loan (9.6%), and being held in libraries in numerous libraries scattered campus wide, in particular two dormitories libraries banned to students of opposite sex. Problems with collection management practices, according to the staff interviewed, included failure to delete records of wed titles from the catalog, lack of systematic inventory checks, errors of binding, and deficiencies with the library software.

Abstract
Purpose: Initially, reading challenges related to the web environment will be discussed in the current paper followed by describing four reading modes including exegetical, dogmatic, agnostic and dialectical which have been proposed by Walter Kaufman. The research aimed to examine such modes of reading in the Web environment via a questionnaire distributed among the postgraduate students in Shahed University of Tehran, IRAN.
Methodology: By stratified-random sampling method, 266 students were selected as the statistical population of the research from a population of 800 students.
Findings: By descriptive and nonparametric statistical analysis, the finding of the research indicate that the students have respectively used agnostic (52.6 %), dialectical (33.5 %), dogmatic (11.3 %) and finally exegetical (2.6 %) reading modes in the reading of web resources. More statistical analyses according to the gender, faculty and level of students showed that dialectical reading, as the ideal mode of reading, is the secondary mode after the agnostic one. Paper recommends the necessity of instructing advanced information literacy and critical thinking skills for dialectical .The literature review shows that the current research is the first one regarding dialectical reading mode in the Web environment.
